Overall it was one of the best years in recent memory for music, but no year is without its fair share of disappointing albums from artists we’re used to hearing better from.

Favorite Music of 2011: 25 Honorable Mentions
It has taken me the better part of a month to situate the official list of my 25 favorite albums of the year. Needless to say, this was a truly terrific year for solidly diverse releases.
I normally post a list of 50 of my favorite albums of each year, but I have chosen to permanently cut that in half in favor of making it a more exclusive list of the 25 absolute best choices to make the cut....
